In our house we celebrate the EuropeanHoliday "St. Nicholas Day". This is a tradition that my mother grew up with, my sister and brother and I gew up with and now all of our children are celebrating. On December 6th children put their shoe in the window and that night St. Nicholas visits them to let them know that they are either behaving well or need a little work before Christmas. So I explained to Owen that night we put his shoe in the window that he might get a little rock from St. Nicholas if he had been a little naughty. Well the next morning we dragged Owen to his shoe (he totally forgot about it) and he saw that he got a treat and a little prize and then he saw the rock...he looked at Chris and I and said in a way excited voice "I got a rock from the North Pole". So he now plays with the rock as if it were a toy. Love that boy!

That totally sounds like what Parks would have done! I love that you celebrate St. Nicholas Day:)
How come I've known you for about 18 years or so and didn't know anything about this tradition??? I love that you are carrying it on with Owen though.
Kelly, I can't belive you never knew about this. I think when we were younger we were kind of told to keep it on the low down...because not everyone was visited by santa clause on that night. but i remember the boys in high school always tesaing me about it. too funny!
